ROMS MARCOOS covers Cape Cod to Cape Hatteras and the Slope Sea. 4DVAR data assimilation of alongtrack altimetry, satellite SST, HF radar and AUV data constrains the model state in 3-day duration analysis cycles. The system is a test-bed for 4DVAR assimilation and observing system design.
