Dataset Identification:

Resource Abstract:
Product shows local sea surface temperatures (degrees C). It is a composite gridded-image derived from 8-km resolution SST Observations. It is generated every 48 hours for North America. SST is defined as the skin temperature of the ocean surface water.

file Decompression Technique  NetCDF (network Common Data Form) is an interface for array-oriented data access and a library that provides an implementation of the interface. The netCDF library also defines a machine-independent format for representing scientific data. Together, the interface, library, and format support the creation, access, and sharing of scientific data. The netCDF software was developed at the Unidata Program Center in Boulder, Colorado. The freely available source can be obtained by anonymous FTP from ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/ or from other mirror sites.
