Additional information on resource:
This coverage is for Washington County, Utah. Arc Info 'point' coverages are created and used to make an illustration showing the hydrologic data sites for each county in the State of Utah. Each coverage is converted to the form of an Arc export file represented by an .e00 extension. The names are given by county. The form is: ut_<county name>.e00. The coverages made with latitude and longitude in decimal degrees. The USGS Water Resources Division Web Node keeps these files and distributes them over the web. Steps to make these files: A. The NWIS database is queried and items extracted. B. The retrieved query items are then made into ARC/INFO coverages. C. The ARC/INFO coverages are made into an Arc export file format with the extension .e00. D. Export format files are sent to the USGS Web Node for distribution over the Internet. __________________________________________________________ NWIS database is queried and items extracted. 1. lat_va Latitude, dms (degree, minute, second) 2. long_va Longitude, dms 3. coord_datum_cd Coordinate datum: NAD 27 (North American Datum, 1927) 4. site_id Site Identification Number, USGS 5. left(station_nm,24) Left 24 characters of station number, USGS 6. station_type_cd Station type: YNNNNNN Stream NYNNNNN Lake/Reservoir NNYNNNN Estuary NNNYNNN Specific Source NNNNYNN Spring NNNNNYN Groundwater other than spring NNNNNNY Meteorlogical 7. agency_use_cd Agency use: A active I inactive O inventory only 8. state_cd State: 49 Utah 9. county_cd County: 001 Beaver 003 Boxelder 005 Cache 007 Carbon 009 Daggett 011 Davis 013 Duchesne 015 Emery 017 Garfield 019 Grand 021 Iron 023 Juab 025 Kane 027 Millard 029 Morgan 031 Piute 033 Rich 035 Salt Lake 037 San Juan 039 Sanpete 041 Sevier 043 Summit 045 Tooele 047 Uintah 049 Utah 051 Wasatch 053 Washington 055 Wayne 057 Weber 10. site_use_1_cd Site Use: A anode C standby emergency D drain E geothermal G seismic H heat reservoir M mine O observation P petroleum, oil or gas R recharge S repressurize T test U unused W withdrawal X waste Z destroyed 11. water_use_1_cd Water Use: A air conditioning B bottling C commercial D dewater E power F fire H domestic I irrigation J industrial (cooling) K mining M medicinal N industrial P public supply Q aquaculture R recreation S stock T institutional U unused Y desalination Z other 12. alt_va Altitude of land surface at the site, ft 13. alt_datum_cd Altitude datum, NGVD (National Geodetic Vertical Datum) 14. hole_depth_va Hole depth drilled total, ft below land surface datum 15. well_depth_va Well depth, ft below land surface datum This is defined as: The greatest depth to which the well can be sounded. _____________________________________________________________________ ARC/INFO attribute NWIS item AREA PERIMETER UT_<COUNTY NAME># UT_<COUNTY NAME>-ID LATITUDE lat_va Latitude, dms LONGITUDE long_va Longitude, dms HORIZ_DATUM coord_datum Coordinate datum: NAD 27 SITE_ID site_id Site Identification Number, USGS LOCAL left(station_nm,24) Station Number, USGS STATION_TYPE station_type Station type: YNNNNNN Stream NYNNNNN Lake/Reservoir NNYNNNN Estuary NNNYNNN Specific Source NNNNYNN Spring NNNNNYN Groundwater other than spring NNNNNNY Meteorlogical AGENCY_USE agency_use_cd Agency use: A active I inactive O inventory only STATE_CODE state_cd State: 49 Utah COUNTY_CODE county_cd County: 001 Beaver 003 Boxelder 005 Cache 007 Carbon 009 Daggett 011 Davis 013 Duchesne 015 Emery 017 Garfield 019 Grand 021 Iron 023 Juab 025 Kane 027 Millard 029 Morgan 031 Piute 033 Rich 035 Salt Lake 037 San Juan 039 Sanpete 041 Sevier 043 Summit 045 Tooele 047 Uintah 049 Utah 051 Wasatch 053 Washington 055 Wayne 057 Weber SITE_USE site_use_1_cd Site Use: A anode C standby emergency D drain E geothermal G seismic H heat reservoir M mine O observation P petroleum, oil or gas R recharge S repressurize T test U unused W withdrawal X waste Z destroyed WATER_USE water_use_1_cd Water Use: A air conditioning B bottling C commercial D dewater E power F fire H domestic I irrigation J industrial (cooling) K mining M medicinal N industrial P public supply Q aquaculture R recreation S stock T institutional U unused Y desalination Z other ALTITUDE alt_va Altitude of land surface at the site, ft VERT_DATUM alt_datum_cd Altitude datum, NGVD (National Geodetic Vertical Datum) HOLE_DEPTH hole_depth_va Hole depth drilled total, ft below land surface datum WELL_DEPTH well_depth_va Well depth, ft below land surface datum This is defined as: The greatest depth to which the well can be sounded.
