Resource Abstract:
USGS Geologic Investigations Series I 2668; A 1:24,000-scale, full-color geologic map of the Izzenhood Spring 7.5' quadrangle, Lander County, Nevada, with 1 cross section and description of 18 units. Detailed geologic mapping by David A. John and Chester T. Wrucke in 2002. The GIS work was in support of the U. S. Geological Survey COGEOMAP program. The Geodatabase specifies feature datasets and feature classes, together with feature attributes, subtypes and domains, suitable for a variety of geologic maps. In addition to basic geology (lithology, contacts and faults, etc.), the maps may include metamorphic overprints, cross sections, and explanatory legend-graphics such as correlation charts, used to supplement columnar legends. Previous work includes the Geologic map of the Battle Mountain quadrangle (House, Ramelli, and Wrucke, 2001); Geologic map of the Stony Point quadrangle (Ramelli, House, Wrucke, and John, 2001); Geologic map of Nevada (Stewart and Carlson, 1978); and the Geologic map of the Snowstorm Mountains and vicinity (Wallace, 1993).
