Cadastral PLSS Standardized Data - PLSSSecond Division (Shiprock) - Version 1.1
Dataset Identification:
Resource Abstract:
This feature class is part of the Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) CADNSDI publication data set for rectangular
and non-rectangular Public Land Survey System (PLSS) data set. The metadata description in the Cadastral Reference System
Feature Data Set more fully describes the entire data set. This feature class is the second division of the PLSS is quarter,
quarter-quarter, sixteenth or government lot divisions of the PLSS. The second and third divisions are combined into this
feature class as an intentional de-normalization of the PLSS hierarchical data. The polygons in this feature class represent
the smallest division to the sixteenth that has been defined for the first division. For example In some cases sections have
only been divided to the quarter. Divisions below the sixteenth are in the Special Survey or Parcel Feature Class.

Title Cadastral PLSS Standardized Data - PLSSSecond Division (Shiprock) - Version 1.1
This feature class provides the graphic of the aliquot or government lot divisions of the PLSS Township. This feature class
is only the second division polygons and is not the combination of all divisions so this feature class does not include Townships
and First Divisions.

description This feature class is built from the PLSSIntersected feature through a series of SQL selects, dissolves and geoprocessing.
The selection uses only the current PLS data so any polygon labeled with a survey note of R (replaced) will not be used in
building derived feature classes. Polygons are combined based on the attributes and rules of combination.

measure Description
The spatial features in this feature class were derived from the PLSSIntersected feature class. The topology rules for this
feature class are re-checked after the dissolve process. The polygon edges in this feature class overlay the polygon lines
in the PLSSIntersected feature class.
